I have been looking at both of these for my first time in Jaco and hoping to get some feedback?

Thanks in advance

Hotel Jaco has nicer / larger rooms, nicer pool area and is totally guest friendly. It has been recently remodeled. Friendly staff and management. Maybe a 10 minute walk to the Cocal.

I wrote a pretty detailed review before the remodeled. You could use search to find it.

Cocal has nice but smallish rooms. Decent reasonably priced food on site. Very expensive drinks. Girls on-site from late .morning on. Decent pool.

Priced are comparable but the Cocal might be cheaper especially if the 10% crt discount is still valid. Definitely ask when booking. Last I looked hotel Jaco had a pretty shifty cancelation policy. Again check when you book.

I have stayed at the Cocal and their rooms are rather bland like a motel. And can be loud depending on where you are at (by the pool, etc). I have not stayed in one of their suites there, but they have the possibility of being nice. The Vista Mar Condo at Cocal is nice, good rooms and more quiet. But they are multi-room and a bit expensive unless you have a friend or two.
I have not stayed at the Hotel Jaco yet (will in July), but have been there and it seems a bit more quiet. Nice rooms that look somewhat new. Allow guests and have a nice pool, restaurant, etc. I agree that they do have a strong cancellation policy - basically no cancellation policy, so if you plan to go, go - do not try.

I might be booking a trip for the end of April. Great tip on the Jaco. Looks nicer that Cocal and I want some quiet with the ladies too. I also see the Best Western has good rates and is on the beach. Ill look for your review.

I highly recommend Vanessa Aquero for your transfers. She has been mentioned here several times and comes highly recommended. She is fluent in Spanish and English if that is an issue. Contact her on WhatsApp at: +506 8518 5725.

Hope this helps …..

Perfect. Just book flights for early May. I'll reach out to her. Much appreciated.
